On Saturday, June 21, Dave, Stacy, and I ran in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. If you don't already know, it's to support breast cancer. We did the 5K run and had a great time! Boeing sponsored all employees who ran in the race by donating $100! We couldn't pass up such an easy way to help out. Boeing provided shirts for all the employees who ran, as you can see. Here we are after the race. It started and ended at Qwest field where the Seahawks play.
It was amazing to see how many people ran in the race. You can see Qwest in the distance and all the people coming towards and away from us. That is a lot of money raised :-) This was halfway. We got to run along the freeway, which was really cool!
Stacy insisted that she would only make it one mile, but we all did the whole thing! We even had enough energy to sprint the last block to the finish. That felt really great! We were all proud of ourselves. Maybe a small triathlon is in our future?
